Beau-Rivage Palace is finest luxury hotel in Switzerland and has evolved from palace to resort. It is located in Lausanne, on the shores of the lake Geneva that offers beautiful landscaping and epic views.
As the name suggests, the palace is steeped in tradition. The balls held here in the 1800s were the domain of high society and royalty. The Great Ballroom is a site to see as are the beautifully landscaped grounds.
The resort is especially nice in the evening. The Palace is reflected in the waters surrounding it, creating an atmosphere that is like something from Cinderella or some other fairy tail. You can just sip champagne and take it all in.
As if that is not enough, there is the spa proper. Beau Rivage offers a bevy of treatments that will turn back the years for your body. You probably do not remember coming out of the womb, but this will be a close approximation.
Just stepping into the spa is amazing as you go through the grand columns. From their, the pampering will remind you again of being royalty. Think of the most relaxing sigh you can make and multiply it by ten. Now you have the idea.
As far as the decor of the hotel goes, if you can imagine what the insides of a palace might be like you may be able to guess at the interior of this hotel. Silken draperies hang from grand windows; marble stairways and hallways lead the way to your decadent room; and fresh flower bloom all around.
You can crawl out of your down bed in the morning and take a seat out on the deck. Take in the aroma of fresh coffee as you watch the haze burn off over the stunningly landscaped grounds and the river below. You may experience no more peaceful moment in time.
From palace to resort, Beau Rivage has evolved with the times. The rich still frequent it, but now you and I can as well. Spend just a day in the resort and you will experience where the say it is good to be king came from.
You might be wondering just how much a day in this decadence is going to cost? The answer is not as much as you assume. A room with a view is less than 500 Swiss Francs, but make sure to get reservations early.
