Biking Trails In The Northeastern US

The Northeastern part of the United States is filled with beautiful scenery. One of the best ways to truly appreciate the majestic mountains and the spectrum of foliage is from your bicycle. Regardless of season, you are sure to enjoy the trails that the Northeast has to offer. Here is a list of some of the best trails in the Northeastern United States.

Near the town of Victor, New York is the Dryer Road Bike Trail. This is a favorite for families and groups because the trails appeal to many skill levels. With new trails being added there is sure to be something appealing to all. With cool cut backs, s-turns, challenging climbs and descending trails, the versatility is enough to keep experienced cyclists satisfied.

With Parsonsfield, Maine just a stone’s throw away, the Cedar Mountain Loop is sure to keep local travelers happy. No need to worry if you are inexperienced, the trail is only about 12 miles long and is perfect for amateurs. The only areas one needs to be mindful about are the water bars at the bottom of the trail and a few steep climbs. Other than the ride is pretty smooth. The view from the top is spectacular and my cause the novice cyclist to catch the riding bug.

Near Allentown, NH are the trails of Bear Brook State Forest. These trails are versatile and are great for experts and amateurs alike. Though this park is very popular, 100 miles of track can ensure a great ride with few other cyclists in the way. There is a nominal fee of $2.50 required and it is recommended that you get a map before starting out. There are a few precautions to consider before pursuing these trails. With 100 miles of track, you may want to bring a friend or two. Being isolated brings issues you may not want to face alone.

The Cross Vermont Trail near Burlington, Vermont has been rated well by other bikers. There are 75 miles of trails which could best be described as rolling terrain. The track is mostly gravel and is open to horseback riders, hikers, snow-mobilers, and cross-country skiers as well. So, watch out for others during your ride. If you dont feel up to the full 75 miles, there are a number of places to get off in between.

Lynn Woods in Lynn, Massachusetts is probably the best place to freeride in the entire state. Its the perfect place for serious mountain bikers to hone their skills as there are all types of terrain here–steep hills, slick rock, thick clay, fire/gravel road. Anything that could be remotely dangerous offers a bailout point if you want to ensure your safety. Just be sure to bring lots of water because your going to need it!

With so many biking trails in this beautiful region of the US, it is hard to narrow down the top spots. Hopefully this list will help you get started on your Northeast cycling adventure. There are so many places to see and so many fun and experiences to have; so get on your bike and ride!
