I made the frosting from this recipe, and it was excellent. Easy to follow instructions and tasted exactly right. The only difference I made was to toast the pecans lightly. Thank you!

In reply to Brooke. Hi Brooke, I am so sorry your cake fell apart! I'm glad it still tasted good though! Did you use parchment paper for the cake pans? Did you let it cool in the pan for at least 5 minutes before flipping it on the cooling rack? Next time you could let it cool longer in the pan so it's not quite as delicate. We really hope it works better for you next time!

Made this recipe for my husband for his birthday and the cake completely fell apart. I dont know what I did wrong when I followed everything to the T! Needless to say I was really disappointed and shed a few tears. At least it tasted delicious 🤷‍♀️

I made the cake part only.The taste is delicious. I mixed up the German chocolate frosting with the Caramel frosting. So I put the wrong frosting on the cake. But everyone loved it. I was told that the frosting seem as though it melted into the cake and it looked as though it was just make when it had been made the day before.
