Yes it should work great! You will just need to increase the baking time. So glad you love it!

I love this cupcake recipe so much! I’d love to use it for a cake. Should I go for it? Or will it not work out right?

The lumps were likely from flour not fully mixed in. Next time, try sifting the dry ingredients and mix until the batter is smooth. That should prevent those little flour balls. I made these recipes for the Witch Hat Cupcakes for my sister’s Halloween-themed October birthday party. They tasted great, but I had little lumps of flour that wouldn’t mix in and that rose to the top while baking instead of cooking into the cupcakes like I hoped. It made the tops look “pimply” as my sister said, so I took a toothpick and dug out all of the little balls of unmixed flour. Like I said, they still tasted great and had a nice firm-but-moist texture. I’m not sure what went wrong.

Would I just omit the cocoa if I want a white frosting?
