I added cheese to make scones to go with the homemade soup we were having. Perhaps a bit sweet but my husband really liked them. Next time reduce sugar a bit and they will be perfect.

I just made these with dried cranberries. The texture is so delicate and the flavor is just the right amount of “just” sweet. I love them. I also made the icing (pink, for valentines day), on the side because not everyone wants icing – why? I don’t know. They taste so good with it, but they don’t need it. The icing is a bonus on an already great baked pastry.

Could this recipe be used to make a gingerbread scone for Christmas? I was concerned about adding extra dry with the spices.

Didn’t add any extra xantham gum or other starches and it still held together.
