We’ve been sharing 5-day weekly meal plans for many years now and are are so excited to introduce these budget meal plans, as well as vegetarian, low carb, and other seasonal meal plans!
- Each Low carb Meal Plan serves 4:
Each meal plan has 5 dinner recipes that will serve approximately 4 adults. We’ve tried to be thoughtful about including recipes that the whole family will love as well as varying the recipes to include a variety of different meals so that you’re not having chicken every night!
2. Save Money:
While we include budget information in all of our meal plans, the main goal of these budget meal plans is to save you extra money by choosing recipes that use more affordable ingredients. You’ll notice we’ve included the estimated cost per recipe as well as the cost for the entire meal plan, making it even easier to budget and see exactly how much you’re saving when you cook from scratch and use a meal plan!
*note that recipe costs are an estimate based on ingredient prices at my local grocer. They will likely vary depending on where you live.
3. Eat Healthier:
Cooking from scratch is a great way to manage your health goals. If you are incorporating low carb meals for underlying health conditions, our low carb recipes are nutrient dense and full of flavor. Take-out and pre-made meals are going to have more fat, sugar, and simple carbs than low carb meals cooked at home.
3. Don’t forget the sides
Don’t forget to search for appetizers, sides, or dessert recipes to add to your list. Often a post will offer suggestions for sides that might accompany the recipe, and if you would like to swap any meals for a different meal, visit our main dish recipes or search our recipe index.
If you love our recipes, please leave a 5 star comment at the bottom of the recipe and join our facebook group, “From Scratch Food Lovers.”

Your idea of low carb is very different from mine. That Applebees Salad has 67 net carbs which is more than a daily allotment of carbs for most diabetics. What makes it low carb to you?
Thank you for your comment, we appreciate your feedback. While the Applebees Salad you mentioned may have a high carb count, our intention was to provide a lower carb alternative to similar restaurant dishes. By recommending grilled chicken instead of breaded, we significantly lower the carb count while still maintaining the delicious flavor. We understand that everyone’s dietary needs and restrictions are different, and we strive to offer a variety of meal options to accommodate different lifestyles. Thank you for your input, we will keep it in mind as we continue to create and share low-carb recipes.
hello! I love your recipes. I am now looking for low carb, low sugar & sodium recipes.
