One Pan Creamy Lemon Chicken Tortellini – an easy one pan pasta dish that the entire family will love. Tortellini pasta with grilled chicken and fresh spinach in a warm, cheesy lemon garlic sauce. A delicious 30-minute meal!
Thirty-minute meals are my jam! Especially if it’s something my kids will eat. I have soooooo many thirty minute meals on the blog, but some of my favorites include:
- Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Wraps
- Fritos Taco Salad
- Shrimp Scampi Linguine
- Grilled Ham and Cheese with Honey Mustard Sauce
- Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps
This meal has so many winning factors to it.
First, it can be made in less than 30 minutes! Refrigerator tortellini noodles take just minutes to cook and the rest of the ingredients are super simple pantry staples. I don’t care if you’re single, married, or have kids–time saving dinners like this one are a MUST!
Second, it’s made in skillet–keep the oven off, and enjoy a cool house while your making dinner.
Third, it’s all made in just one pan! Hooray for no extra dishes to wash!
Lastly, it’s a total crowd pleaser and completely kid-friendly. That creamy, cheesy sauce would make just about anybody happy.

- 3 teaspoons garlic , minced
- 1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup water

- 2 cups baby spinach leaves
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

- Add tortellini. Cover and allow to boil for just a couple minutes, stirring occasionally, until tortellini are tender--don't over cook!
- Add the pieces of Neufchatel cheese, parmesan cheese and lemon juice and stir until melted into the sauce.
- Return chicken to pan and add spinach. Toss to combine. Season with additional salt and pepper, if needed.
- Remove from heat, cover and let rest for a few minutes for spinach to wilt and sauce to thicken slightly.
- Serve warm with extra parmesan cheese, if desired.Â

I am 82 live alone love to cook, cook two meals a day from scratch. First time i made this chicken and pasta was not tender to much off heat time to dry out. Second time i basically did a one pan put all in and simmer till chicken and pasta was done. WOW, oh i had no spinach so i subbed peppers, onions and cream cheese no nuf.
I have made this at home and work and it was indeed, damn delicious and well-received by my customers! This one has been in in my permanent keeper box over 6 months now…..
My husband and I made this recipe last night and it was great!! We often eat tortellini but this was such a wonderful departure from marinara sauce that I barely recognized our quick dinner staple. We cut the cream cheese to 2 oz. and it was still very creamy without being too rich. We also added some cherry tomatoes to our second helpings and love that beautiful and tasty combination. I’m so glad I stumbled onto this blog yesterday!! I’m excited to try to several other recipes I’ve already Pinned!
Made this tonight and it was WONDERFUL! Everything I have made from you has been great!
What can be used in place of the cream cheese?
This is one of my favorite decadent go to dinners when I don’t want to spend all the time making such a dish. It is easy, and most of all DELICIOUS! I add more lemon juice, but I love all things lemon. Thank you for my families favorite meal time recipe!
I just made this and it is delicious! Very, very rich but so easy to make!
Thanks Lauren.
This is one of my family’s new favorite go-to recipes. Even my super-picky son liked this one! We loved fresh Parmesan grated on top.
Yay! Love it when you when over the Picky eaters! Thanks so much Beckie!
In the picture it looks like slices of lemon were added, but the recipe only calls for 1 tbsp of lemon juice… Should I still add lemons or just the juice?
Hi Lana, I added the lemons just for aesthetics–You can add them or leave them.
