I made these sandwiches tonight for dinner and they were excellent and the recipe was easy to follow. I haven’t had one since we were in Paris and these were spot on. I did add a little onion powder and a bay leaf to my bechamel. I served them with cream of tomato soup. I will definitely make these again. Thank you for the great recipe!

Excellent recipe which I followed with one exception. We like our bread toasted a bit so I put a bit of butter on one side of bread then built sandwich. Also broiled top for a minute or so to get it nice and brown.

Very good and very easy. I like a bit of crunch with my croque, so brushed melted butter on the bottom of the piece of bread touching the baking sheet. Also spread a little Dijon on top of the ham before topping it with cheese for an extra tang.
